Japan: Lighting in 2014

Japan Lighting exhibition, one of the biggest lighting affair inAsia, runs from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17 at Big Sight Tokyo. At the exhibition positive growth in Japan lighting has been discussed at the exhibition.

Hajime Suzuki, Director and Vice President of Reed Exhibitions Japan commented about his observations on this year’s show, Suzuki noted the trend of LED manufacturers moving their focus from technologies to applications will be on the rise. The increasing number of participants from the LED projector and factory lighting sector shall occur this year.

Moreover, Suzuki announced that there are also obvious changes in the Japanese market. “Two years ago, the Japanese residential market was actively switching to LED lighting, but now we have witnessed a trend of factories switching to LED lighting.”

Remarkably, automotive lighting was introduced at the show. Suzuki pointed out LED lighting companies identified a potential for the automotive LED lighting market in Japan as more car manufacturers are looking for energy saving lighting. In addition, there are many automotive makers in the LED market; both of which share interest in entering each other’s market. to create a win-win situation and meet this overlapping interest.
